Karen people live in small isolated villages around Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Maesariang and Mae Sot. Originally from Tibet, they gradually migrated to Burma ( Myanmar) and Thailand. They have their own language, spoken and written.
Most of them live thanks to their cultivated crops, fishing and harvesting, without any technological materials and some of them never leave their village.
The Karen people of Burma are currently living in a state of aftermath from years of discrimination, brutal human rights violations, and the struggle to stay alive each day.
There were up to 662 displaced person as a result of conflict and violence in Myanmar as of March 2015.
